MINDHACK NATIONAL CODING TOURNAMENT 2025

What is MindHack?

MindHack is a coding tournament open to ALL students of CIY Club, where participants in teams of 2-3 persons will tackle various fun and challenging coding tasks! Participants will work with assigned mentors throughout the tournament for guidance and fostering connections with industry players.

MindHack 2025’s theme is “The Ancient Revival”, encouraging participants to explore how technology can be used to preserve and promote cultural heritage while engaging with contemporary issues.

Important to Know

The coding tournament will take place in 3 stages: 

  • Stage 1 – Locals (20th August 2025, held at respective CIY Clubs)
    Selected finalists will advance to Stage 2

  • Stage 2 – Nationals (13th – 14th September 2025, held at Kuala Lumpur [Venue TBD])
    Selected finalists will advance to Stage 3

  • Stage 3 – International (15th November 2025, held at Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20)

 

Age Groups:

  • Wizards (7 – 10 years)

  • Heroes (11 – 14 years)

  • Masters (15 – 17 years)

Participants may join ONE of the following categories:

  • 3D Design: create 3D models or installations representing cultural elements. Participants choosing this category should have a basic understanding of 3D Design and rendering.

  • Coding: develop software solutions that promote cultural awareness and education. Participants choosing this category should have a basic understanding of coding.

  • Electronics/Robotics: design electronic devices or applications that engage users with cultural content. Participants choosing this category should have a basic understanding of electrical applications and usage.

MindHack 2025 will have a total of 9 champions, one champion declared for each age group across each category.

Important Dates

  • 10th July 2025: Registration closes, onboarding process

  • 20th August 2025: Stage 1 Project Submission

  • 28th August 2025: Finalists announced, Stage 2 Project Development

  • 12th September 2025: Stage 2 Project Submission

  • 13th – 14th September 2025: Project presentation in-person to judging panel, Stage 2 winners announced

  • 15th November 2025: Stage 3 (Internationals) at Bangkok, Thailand
